overview

WHAT IS LINDGREN? IT IS A KING’S CASTLE, AN ICE CREAM SHOP, A DRAGON’S LAIR, A CONSTRUCTION ZONE, A FAIRIES’ BOWER.

Lindgren could be any one of these places, and more, at any given time.

Others may just see a barn, a sand pile, a huge rock, a playhouse, or a forsythia hedge. But for our students, their imaginations are nurtured, possibilities are limitless.

From inception, our goal at Lindgren has been clear. Our drive is to cultivate the imagination, as well as inspire exploration, discovery, invention and an appetite for knowledge. Here, children embark on a learning journey that will last their entire lives.

How do we fulfill our goal? We respect the children. We know that within each one lies the ability to explore and the curiosity to do so. Our process is a natural one, based on the value of free play for early childhood development and the necessity of outdoor play in a natural environment.

At Lindgren, open-ended activities encourage creativity. Exploration leads to discoveries. Learning becomes its own reward, and an adventure that grows, as your child grows, into a lifetime passion.

Every day, the power of imagination is at work at Lindgren. Our philosophy of free play infuses every one of our school programs.

Set in our woodland oasis, Lindgren camp is a kind of haven, unlike any summer camp in the region.

Our Parent and Me classes create a safe, nurturing environment for your child to begin learning in the larger world.
